Right to Information – Master key to good governance

Urgent appeal to activists at all centres

Posted by rtiact2005 on August 15, 2006

In Mumbai we are encouraging different groups/ individuals/organisations to start this activity. Yesterday we had a Public meeting organised by the Catholic Sabha at Dadar Portugese Chrch where we asked people to fill the following ballot, which was sent by MKSS. I think it will be a good idea for each group or organisation to collect ballots at different places and then count and forward them.

The Government wants to amend the Right to Information Act 2005 and exclude some important categories of information from being accessed.

The Campaign to Save the Right to Information feels that these amendments would considerably weaken the Act.

Do you want the Act to remain as it is? (Tick one of the following)

Yes, information should remain accessible                                 …………

No, the information should be restricted                                  ………….

Name: ……………………………………………………………………………………………….

Address:……………………………………………………………………………………………..

    Dear Friends,

Even if the Government Ammends the RTI act to exempt the File notings it is legally not valid. I have reasons to say this and I am sure to take the issue legally if the Government Tends to exempt file notings from the pre4view of RTI.
