File notings are covered by the defination of information in the RTI Act.

It is surprising the Dr Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India, is not correctly informed.

The PMs reply is nothing but a hood-winking effort, and this is unlike a person like Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Prime Minister Ji, whom are you trying to fool. If the intention was really to make RTI more powerful (as claimed in the reply), the file notings should have been SPECIFICALLY and ABSOLUTELY included in the ambit of RTI, (without the qualifying phrases “related to Social and developmental issues”). In the first place, the status of File Notings could be left as it is now (since it naturally comes in the ambit of RTI, by the very defination of “information”).

We very strongly insist the PM should not bow down to the pressure from vested interests.
