Meghalaya police Special Branch exempted from RTI Act

The ruling Congress-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government today passed a notification exempting the state police Special Branch and District Special Branches of all the seven districts from the purview of the Right to Information Act, 2005.

    No wonder the cops are hiding the facts that, an underground group HLF,whose members were arrested last year,was formed by some minister and a Union Minister and this was revealed on interrogation of the arrested members of the extremist group.The cops now say they need more evidence. So they mean to say that all the people they have arrested so far are arrested because evidence was found against them? What an irony. The law is only for the Common Man…
